The Referral Management Center, or RMC, is a one-stop shop where patients go to process specialty referrals requested by their referring provider. The RMC can help set your military treatment facility specialty appointment. We can also assist you in the coordination of your off-site network provider if necessary. Additionally, the RMC can advise on health care benefits and review referrals. If you have been referred by your primary care manager to a sub-specialty clinic, the RMC will coordinate your initial appointment. Any follow up care needed will be made by the specialty clinic. If care cannot be provided on base, the RMC will defer you to one of our TRICARE Humana specialist medical providers. All routine network referrals have an expiration date, so please set your initial appointment before the referral time period ends. The RMC cannot renew, modify, or delete an unused, unwanted, or expired referral. All expired referrals must be renewed by calling your primary care manager. It is highly recommended that you establish an account on the Humana Military portal located at www.HumanaMilitary.com. There, you are able to view referrals and even change the specialty provider all via the Humana portal.
