Health Services

Laboratory

We provide support to 375th Medical Group outpatient clinics and eligible beneficiaries who are assigned to an on-base primary care manager.

The laboratory doesn't accept paper lab orders from beneficiaries who aren't assigned to a 375th Medical Group primary care manager. These beneficiaries will need to use a local TRICARE-approved network laboratory instead.

We also support the fight against cancer as a C.W. Bill Young, Department of Defense National Marrow Donor Registration Site. Marrow donor services are available daily, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Laboratory Capabilities

We're a limited-service laboratory accredited by the College of American Pathologists. For testing not performed in-house, samples are collected and sent to a military or civilian reference laboratory for testing. Send-out tests have an expected 7- to 10-day turnaround, based on the test ordered.

Important Information

  • The laboratory can't process any lab orders that are more than 60 days from the provider’s signature, according to Defense Health Agency policy. If lab orders are more than 60 days from the provider’s signature, you'll need to obtain a new lab order.
  • Some lab tests require the patient to fast. Fasting means having nothing to eat or drink (except water) for 8 to 12 hours before blood collection. The provider's orders should specify whether fasting is required. Unless the provider gives other instructions, patients should continue taking their medications as prescribed before having blood drawn.
  • Some tests may require special scheduling, diets, collection containers, or instructions; therefore, contact the lab prior to collection to determine if your test falls into this category.
