Warrior Operational Medicine Clinic

The Warrior Operational Medicine Clinic (WOMC) provides acute and routine outpatient care for all active-duty members to include Sister Services as well as Guard and Reserve on active orders. To best prepare for your appointment:
  1. Bring a list of medications and highlight those needing refills
  2. If applicable, bring blood pressure log if you have hypertension or blood sugar log if you are diabetic.
  3. A prioritized list of concerns or questions
Arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time to check in and complete additional paperwork. This also helps to prevent delays due to gate traffic, unpredictable travel time, and/or inclement weather.

Acute and Routine Care

Acute

For acute issues or issues that need to be addressed within 24 hours, contact the Appointment line at 618-256-WELL (9355), Option 1. If no appointments are available, either: Please note: Active-Duty Service Members are required to obtain a referral to visit an Urgent Center off-base. If no appointments are available, the best option is to contact the MHS Nurse Advice Line as described above for a referral to be placed.

Routine

Routine appointments are for present illnesses not causing severe symptoms, such as:
  • Follow-up care for chronic issues
  • Initial Referral requests
  • Medication concerns

Additional Services

Walk-In Clinics

For the following services (appointment with clinical support staff, i.e., registered nurses and/or medical technicians):
Upper Respiratory Infection Evaluation available Monday – Friday 7:30-8 a.m.
For new onset of Cough, Cold, Congestion, and Sore Throat within 48 hours
Provider Ordered Follow-Up Services available Monday – Friday 8:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Blood Pressure Check
  • Wound care – suture/staple removal/dressing changes
  • Consecutive wart treatment

Quarters

Unit commanders and supervisors have authority to grant up to 24 hours sick status if a member’s illness/injury does not require military hospital clinic. (See: AFMAN 41-210, 4.11.4)

Medication Renewals

If out of refills, send a secure message to the Scott Warrior Medicine Clinic via the MHS Genesis Patient Portal. Provide the following details:
  • Name and dosage of medication(s)
  • When medication(s) will run out
Suggest placing renewal request at least 10 days prior to last dose.

Referral Renewals

To request continuation of a referral, send a secure message to the Scott Warrior Medicine Clinic via the MHS Genesis Patient Portal. Provide the following details:
  • Name and address of referred specialty
  • Reason for continuation of referral. (ie. out of visits, further evolution, etc.)
    • Attach referred specialty supporting documentation if applicable

Profile Renewals

To request continuation of profile, initiate the ‘Self Certify’ option within the AF422/AF469 profiles by visiting your IMR https://asimsimr.health.mil/imr/MyImr.aspx
Following ‘Self Certification’, send a message to your PCM to the Scott Warrior Medicine Clinic via the MHS Genesis Patient Portal. Provide the following details:
  • Reason for requested Continuation (i.e. pending off base referral appointment, imaging, continuation of physical therapy)

Shaving Waiver

Initial Waiver at Scott AFB, must attend Shaving Waiver Class. Held the 2nd Wednesday of every month, 1-2 p.m. at Human Performance Classroom. For scheduling, message your PCM via MHS Genesis Patient Portal:
Renewal: For renewals to bridge Commander approval, please message your PCM via MHS Genesis Patient Portal.

Convalescent Leave Inquiries

Once scheduled for procedure requiring convalescence, send a secure message to the Scott Warrior Medicine Clinic via the MHS Genesis Patient Portal. Provide the following details:
  • Referred Clinic
  • Procedure
  • Length of requested convalescent leave
  • Provider recommended restrictions pending recovery
Upload all supporting documents, to include provider recommendations, into message.
Approved Convalescent Leave forms can be printed via the MHS Genesis Patient Portal.
Please note: While off-base provider recommendations are taken into consideration, not all recommendations may be supported due to military guidelines.

Manage Your IMR

Preventive Health Assessment (PHA)

To schedule your annual PHA/MHA call the VIPRR Care Clinic at 1-844-VMEDCEN (863-3236).

Separation and Retirement Physical (SHPE)

Air Force service members must visit their myIMR to complete DD Form 2807-1 PRIOR to scheduling an appointment. To schedule in-person SHPE exam contact 618-256-7422

Sister Service Members need to contact the SHPE Coordinator for appropriate service from PRIOR to scheduling an appointment. To schedule in-person SHPE exam contact 618-256-7422, 618-256-4988, or 618-256-7143.

Emergency & After-Hours Care 

Emergency – Life, Limb or Eyesight

Call 911 or report to the nearest emergency room.

Non-Emergent/Urgent

For after-hours Non-Emergent and Urgent health care, contact the Nurse Advice Line: Their staff will triage, and direct medical care as needed. They can provide ‘Sick Slip’ quarters.
