Services Offered
Newborn Care
We are seeing newborns for their first clinic visit at 3-5 days and 2 weeks after being born. Schedule appointments by calling 618-256-9355.
Parents of babies born at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon need to schedule a newborn nursery follow-up before discharge, due to MTF limited availability.
See the bottom of this page for step-by-step instructions.
We have face-to-face well-baby appointments
These recommended visits are at 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, and 18 months, and 2, 3, 4 and 5 years old. Please call to reschedule the appointment if you or your child is ill. Well-baby appointments can be scheduled calling 618-256-9355.
We perform 2- to 17-year-old well-child physicals and sports physicals
Children need one physical per year. If your child has been seen in the last year, we will complete your child’s paperwork without an appointment. You may send in paperwork via the
MHS GENESIS Patient Portal. Please make sure to complete the parent portion first. If your child is due for a physical and immunizations, they will be done at the same appointment. Pediatric well-child visits should be made one month before your child’s birthday. Please call the clinic at 618-256-9355 to schedule these visits.
Immunization visits are available five days a week
Please call the clinic at 618-256-9355 to schedule these visits; remember to bring your child’s immunization record to this visit.
Sick visits
There are multiple ways for your child to receive care when they’re sick. You can call the Nurse Advice Line to speak with one of our registered nurses 24 hours a day. You can call the clinic at 618-256-9355 and speak with someone who can determine if your child needs to be seen face to face or virtually, or simply to receive nursing guidance. You can also take your child to the Emergency Department or Urgent Care.
To Schedule Newborn Appointments
First: DEERS
The sponsor needs to report to the Military Personnel Flight (DEERS) within seven days of the child being born.
The sponsor must come in and drop off the required documentation as a walk-in, or make an appointment. Please bring Certificate of Live Birth/Footprints or record of birth (must be the sponsor, not the spouse). Birth certificate or social security card is not needed at this time.
The DEERS office allows walk in service for newborn enrollment on Wednesdays, 8 – 9 a.m.
Spouses can do this only with valid power of attorney.
Next: Enroll and Assign with Humana
Call Humana Military at 800-444-5445 to enroll your child in the TRICARE East region, under the plan you prefer. The Scott AFB MTF only sees children enrolled in TRICARE Prime. Beneficiaries can only request a civilian PCM if enrolled in TRICARE Select.
It’s important to know the difference regarding access and payment. If enrolled in TRICARE Prime, Humana should inform you of the assigned PCM.
Enrollment must be done before the child reaches 90 days of age.
Finally: Register and Schedule
Call the MTF Patient Administration office at 618-256-7522 to register; call the central appointment desk at 618-256-9355 to schedule the newborn visit.
