TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration

Referral Management Center

The Referral Management Center processes specialty referrals requested by the primary care manager. The RMC can help set up your specialty appointment if you have been referred to a sub-specialty clinic within the MTF. The RMC will coordinate your initial appointment only. Any follow-up care needed will be made by the specialty clinic. If care cannot be provided on base, the referral request will be deferred to a TRICARE network provider assigned by Humana Military. All routine network referrals have an expiration date, so please set your initial appointment before the referral time period ends. The RMC cannot renew, modify, or delete an unused, unwanted, or expired referral. All expired referrals must be renewed by calling your primary care manager. It is highly recommended that you establish an account on the Humana Military portal; you can review your referral authorizations there.

Patient Travel

If you’re referred by your PCM for specialty care at a location over 100 miles, one way, from your PCM’s office, you may be eligible for TRICARE Prime travel reimbursement. Once you’re referred, visit the patient administration office in the main hospital or call 618-256-7522. To learn more, visit https://tricare.mil/primetravel

Patient Administration and Release of Information

We assist beneficiaries in many ways. We can assist with new patient registrations, virtual out-processing for TRICARE, incapacitation requests, line of duty determinations, and medical evaluations boards. Release of Information fulfills requests and provides various services for continuity of care documentation, service member retirements, insurance claims, and others. Requests can be made by the patients and/or treating facility by visiting the TOPA Flight, located on the second floor of the medical group. Patients may request copies of their medical records using DD Form 2870. Please allow up to 30 duty days for record requests to be filled.
